Here’s
what’s making celebrity news this week. Well, it looks like
celebrities around the globe are putting a whole new meaning to
the phrase "Be fruitful and multiply." Um huh, and word
has it, Philly’s own neo-soul artist Bilal is next in line
as a father to be. Congratulations man! Um huh, they say his girlfriend’s
water might break any day now. I pray the child takes after the
mother, okay! Um huh, sources say, former Motown artist
Grenique, straight
out of Landover Maryland is back on the block Um huh, not with a
new album to follow-up her 1999 "Black Butterfly" release,
but with a new belly (about six months of it to be exact). I’m
told she’s not exactly engaged, so I hope the lil’ bambino’s
father has some major cheddar in his bank account or Grenique’s
azz might be featured on VH-1’s Ultimate 1 Hit Wonder Count
Down in the not so distant future, Um huh!
Sources say, there’s trouble in paradise for Brandy’s
lil’ brother Ray-J, whose no longer associated with the likes
of Lil’ Tevin Campbell or female rapper Lil’ Kim. Word
has it, he was just dumped by his longtime girlfriend Irish of the
female trio 702. The lovebirds are said to have bickering for some
time now, over rumors of Ray-J having cheated with older women while
being connected to his new label The Row. Now picture that, Um huh!
Word on the
street, actor/comedian Martin Lawrence is going through a secret
legal battle with an ex-girlfriend who accused him rape. His camp
attempted to keep this story hush-hush, since male entertainers
associated with sexual assault in 2002 is career suicide. The couple
was reported to have dated for approximately three months, which
is exactly how long it took her to go to the authorities with her
allegations (right after he dumped her). Um huh, in my opinion,
this is a pretty thin story, since any evidence would have been
long washed away by now. It looks like Martin may have had a close
encounter of the gold digging kind, Um huh!
In closing news,
the artist known as Musiq Soulchild just dropped his sophomore album
this week (the follow-up to his freshman album "I Just Want
To Sing"). Critics gave the album a thumbs up and it’s
certainly a must have. Um huh, I just hope he takes his first royalty
check and get that cockeye fixed, so he can get rid of those tired
sunglasses once and for all. Insiders say, he’s in need of
strabismus surgery to correct a visual defect where the eyes are
noticeably misaligned. The last time I ran into this guy, I had
to cover one of my own eyes just to look at him face to face without
getting dizzy. The one eye was drifting so far in the other direction,
I thought he’d just bumped his head on a coffee table somewhere.
Which would explain the rumors about him dating India.Arie (Acoustic
Soul), because the fool can’t see her. Now, that’s one
hell of a gene pool, his eyes and her grill. Now, that’s very
just disturbing. The album "Just Listen" in stores now,
so pick it up!
